Hidden gem in North Evanston. Good food, great selection at the bar.
Popped in for a late lunch and food was great. Employee on the register was really knowledgeable about the menu, NA options and vegan options as well. A nice kid-friendly option in the neighborhood with delicious food. Vegan options as well!
Yumm! We just had an amazing lunch at the fat shallot. We ate our sandwich to fast for a photograph. We ordered the Truffle BLT, Brussels sprouts and Fries. The atmosphere is great and staff was super friendly. This will definitely be added to our go to list. Very nice full bar too.
We hosted a surprise wedding shower for a colleague and The Fat Shallot knocked it out of the park. The menu selection process was extremely easy and the food was awesome. We even had to change the date a week out and they kindly adjusted it for us. Top notch experience at an affordable price.
Really cool space. Dining in front, party in back with the juke box, video games and the bar! And a really nice outdoor courtyard in the back. I've had the buffalo chicken sandwich at Gilson Beach before, so I had to try it at this new location. It's perfect, great buffalo spice and little slices of celery and ranch dressing. YUM! I paired it with their delicious fries. You have to come and try this.
I picked up grilled cheeses and cheeseburgers for a group and had a wonderful experience! The ambience of the place is great, and everyone in there was very nice and accommodating! I loved the food and so did everyone in the group I got it for!
I cannot rave enough about the quality of my experience at the fat shallot in Evanston. The food was great The atmosphere was amazing - We sat outside in the back and soaked up the sun It was comfortable and comforting. John, who was running the place today, bent over backwards to make us comfortable and make sure every need was taken care of. The food was delicious, The place was fun, Everybody there got in the spirit. I’m amazed this incredible resource is right in my neighborhood
Run, don’t walk, to this new neighborhood gem! Such a wonderful addition to Central St! Went for lunch on opening day & the counter service was warm, friendly & SO FAST!! My husband & I split the Truffle BLT & the Cheeseburger plus an order of Truffle Fries (sauce on the side for dipping, rather than the smothered version). Your kids are going to love the football table, claw machine & Pac Man video games inside along with giant Connect Four & bags outside on the sun drenched patio. You are going to enjoy excellent local beers (we had Sketchbook’s Orange Door & Half Acre’s Daisy Cutter- don’t judge our midday drink, we were celebrating our anniversary!!), beautiful decor & a quiet meal with your person because your kiddos will be too busy playing games to bother you! The food was excellent- can’t wait to try other options next time. Sit on the small Central St sidewalk patio, in the front dining room, in the back bar, or on the big back patio. Can’t go wrong! Definitely my favorite sandwich shop in the area. The staff if very friendly and they have a great menu of items. My go to is the turkey sandwich with avocado and a side of fries. Yum!
We absolutely love The Fat Shallot! Delicious food, stiff drinks and a relaxed and joyful place to be. We had an event here for over 50 people and they really enjoyed themselves. “The food was amazing, the drinks were great and the atmosphere was fabulous.”
